The Parisian start-up, which belongs to the ARCHOS Group, has a mission, within the framework of this partnership, to pursue the development and marketing of the cognitive rehabilitation software S’TIM developed by the rehabilitation team of the Ramsay Santé Provence Bourbonne clinic .
Paris – June 20, 2022 – This partnership is the concretization and the logical continuation of the work carried out by the therapists of the clinic, supervised by Dr. Michèle Timsit, eager to innovate for neurological rehabilitation and the Mediterranean Institute of Information Sciences and Communication from the University of Toulon.
Observing the lack of technological tools to assist neurological rehabilitation, especially in the rehabilitation of patients with cognitive disorders following a head trauma or a stroke, is the basis of this project. So, the team started creating a training software to help these patients and can be used on a large touch screen.
In order for these therapeutic innovations to benefit as many patients as possible, the team decided to entrust the future work on the development and marketing of this solution to the company Dextrain, which will ensure the continuity of the project together with team of rehabilitators and enable S’TIM to be quickly assigned to rehabilitation centers. SATT Sud-Est has granted Dextrain a sub-license to use S’TIM software jointly owned by the University of Toulon and Clinique de Provence-Bourbonne-Ramsay Santé Group.
The results of the S’TIM project are therefore produced in a global solution including hardware and software intended for specialized establishments initially and then for the home.
The solution will be sold for € 99 per month (2 years) or € 2,000 excluding purchase tax.
S’TIM: a new tool for training executive functions
Initial feedback from clinical studies indicates that the use of the S’TIM game improves cognitive functions, such as memory, concentration and improves the behavior of patients who have had a stroke or head trauma. . Other types of patients with psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, also experience disorganization and may require cognitive remediation.
The challenge to re-educate these patients is to offer applications to train and/or stimulate knowledge and promote autonomy in daily life activities while motivating them without being childish. they. S’TIM is a “serious game” used in health professional support and is intended to be both a rehabilitation tool and also a tool for therapeutic education and mediation between the anosognosic patient and the therapist.
With the aging population, independence and staying at home as much as possible represents a major public health challenge. The S’TIM solution can also be used to stimulate and maintain cognitive functions in the elderly and reduce the impact of aging on their quality of life.
S’TIM may contribute to assessments or stimulation sessions conducted in memory consultations for outpatients. Its installation and use is easy, it can even be used by patients with their family and carers directly at home.
