[CONTENU PARTENAIRE] Specializing in growth sectors related to innovation and new technologies in various business sectors, the independent investment bank Bryan, Garnier & Co supports European companies in their growth and development within 25 years. Interview with Greg Revenu, one of the co-founders of the establishment.
Can you tell us in a few words about the activity of the independent bank Bryan, Garnier & Co?
Bryan, Garnier & Co is a European investment bank with a unique business model, largely inspired by the American investment banks that have shaped the US technology sectors since the 1980s.
This model is unique in several aspects: first of all, an international approach organized into specialized industry sectors; then an extensive transaction capacity (unlisted fundraising, IPOs in Europe and US, issues of convertibles, mergers and acquisitions, research, trading) that guarantees our freedom of advice we provide and leads to our position ourselves throughout the curve of business development, from start -up to large caps and all the stages in between. Finally, independence is linked to our partnership structure
What exactly are the sectors in which your investment bank operates?
Our investment bank is present in various technology -related sectors; through it, we cover several fields such as health, in particular biotech or medtech, information technologies (from business software to cybersecurity, robotics or space), but also the transfer of energy and the environment to the wider that definition, as well as service. activities associated with these sectors (“technology -capable services”).
Bryan, Garnier & Co. also brings its expertise to “NextGen consumers”, whether in e-commerce, activities related to new consumption patterns, and so-called “new generation” products.
In summary, we specialize in sectors related to innovation and new technologies, where we gain highly detailed expertise and knowledge.
In which countries does your investment bank operate?
Unlike other players, we have pan-European logic. After being created in London, we expanded our physical presence to other countries on the continent such as France, Germany, Scandinavia and the US.
However, as I say, we are organized by sector of activity and not by geography, the groups working in all geographies according to their sector or transaction expertise.
How are you able to be unique today?
Our bank offers a spectrum of transactional tools and immense knowledge. Typically, stores specialize in a very specific type of transaction (fundraising, M&A, capital markets), for our part, we want to offer an immense transactional spectrum in the various sectors we cover. . We can even say that we are agnostic from this point, having a very high level of specialization in the sector!
Remember, we also choose not to have a core specialization, we work with large clients as well as smaller structures and are committed for the long term with the companies we support at each new stage of development.
More specifically, what are your clients looking for when they turn to your investment bank?
Our goal is primarily to identify fast -growing and evolving companies, either organically or through external growth in Europe, and support their growth over time. We provide companies, their managers and shareholders with an ecosystem that enables them to facilitate this growth by securing financing for their growth, regardless of their nature, or through of access to transaction opportunities or liquidity. Our research activities enable them to benefit from permanent insights into the dynamics of their markets, as well as to gain visibility into the financial ecosystem.
We give them all of our transaction capacity and one of the largest teams in Europe consisting of more than two hundred professionals who specialize in the field of technology in the broadest sense, in the long run.
What are the challenges facing Bryan, Garnier & Co today?
We will soon be celebrating our 25th anniversary in a few months. In a quarter of a century, the world in which we find ourselves has changed dramatically.
Now, we’re talking now about the metaverse, we’re making vaccines in just two years for a pandemic that, a few decades ago, destroyed almost half of the world’s population. Bryan, Garnier & Co were both driven by all these changes in the world, but also a contributor. The challenge will certainly continue to be so, in relation to the major changes in the future that the world will soon experience.
So we are now educating ourselves on new challenges for the world of tomorrow, even on climate issues, but on technological issues in the broadest sense.
