DUBAI, May 26, 2022 (WAM)-The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has won three Global Excellence Assembly Awards 2022. These are the Excellence in Innovation Award, the Business Innovation Award, and the Outstanding Customer Service Award.
DEWA was the first entity to win three awards in the same cycle based on the Baldrige Excellence Framework standard, the highest level of recognition for performance excellence. The Assembly, based in New York, USA, congratulated DEWA and praised its success in institutionalizing a culture of excellence and making it a daily practice.
DEWA MD and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, expressed his joy that DEWA has won these prestigious international awards.

Al Tayer thanked DEWA employees for their continued efforts that have enabled him to win numerous local and international awards. He also commended the Global Excellence Assembly for its efforts to recognize excellence and innovation.
“It is important to note that although very few manage to win an Assembly Award for Global Excellence, DEWA is officially the first international government entity to win while scoring the highest points. The Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, explained that Malcolm Baldrige’s standards have been used as the global standard for organizational success, as they have been proven by more than 30 years of practice. He noted that winning three awards at the Global Excellence Assembly underscores DEWA’s global status, which has been the benchmark for developing and implementing the highest standards and practices of excellence in all its activities and operations.
DEWA has won two awards for innovation. The first is the “Business Innovation Award” for organizational innovation and DEWA’s patented Cable Lifecycle Aging project, which aims to enhance and extend the life of distribution cables through advanced systems based on data processing. The second is the “Excellence in Innovation” award for the patented “Hydronet” project, which uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to remotely monitor and control the water network.
DEWA won the Outstanding Customer Service award for organizational excellence and for the Smart Living initiative. DEWA always reaffirms its commitment to make its customers happy and exceed their expectations.
