Royal Canadian Mint and United States Mint Collaborate to Launch Joint Proud Insignia of Two Countries Coin Set

OTTAWA June 25, 2019 / CNW/ – In honor of the long -standing peaceful coexistence of Canada and the United States, the Royal Canadian Mint is pleased to announce the launch of the Limited Edition Two-Coin Set Proud emblems of the two countries, created in collaboration with the United States Mint. This set, which features numismatic reproductions of well -known designs found on Canadian and US bullion coins, will be available to the public, starting July 3, 2019.

“The maple leaf and the eagle are the proud symbols of our neighboring countries, which have thrived and prospered together for over 150 years,” said Marie Lemay, President of the Royal Canadian Mint. “We are proud to see the iconic designs of our Silver Maple Leaf and Silver American Eagle bullion coins come together in this inspiring new set, celebrating the special bond that brings together Canada and the United States. »

The set features a special numismatic version of a silver Maple Leaf coin with a modified proof finish, as well as a one ounce United States Mint silver American Eagle coin with an accented reverse proof finish. These two endings are first for these pieces.

The reverse of the Silver Maple Leaf coin features a classic sugar maple leaf design by Walter Ott, originally made in 1979. This emblem of the Mint’s Maple Leaf family of bullion coins is based on a background of radial lines that surrounded by stars and maple leaves. On the obverse of the coin, the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, according to Susanna Blunt, is also surrounded by stars and maple leaves.

The obverse (tail) of the one ounce American Eagle coin in the silver represents an allegory of Freedom as imagined by Adolph A. Weinman. Seen from head to toe and marching, he wrapped in the American flag, right hand stretched forward, while he held laurel and oak branches on the left. The opposite of the coin (face) shows a heraldic eagle carrying a shield and holding in its falls an olive branch on the right and arrows on the left.

These amazing numismatic coins are packaged in a special clamshell case decorated with the logos of the Royal Canadian Mint and United States Mint. The certificate features inside photos of Canadian and American flags and adds a nice splash of color.

The workshop is limited to 10,000 sets and the retail price is $ 189.95.
