The company delivers new solutions to help businesses align with the Sustainable Development Goals
LONDON-(BUSINESS WIRE)-NTT Ltd., a global provider of business technologies and solutions, today announced the launch of an IoT service offering to drive sustainable growth. The new end-to-end solution stack will help businesses align with global sustainability goals and make data-based decisions to reduce the carbon footprint through better use of IoT connectivity.
These solutions include:
- OCR meter readings: that is, the optical reading of any type of meter, specifically water, electricity and gas, to provide data in near real time. The meter can also be used to read any type of gauge, including those for pressure and temperature.
- Water leakage management: This IoT-enabled technology for smart space projects provides real-time protection against water damage.
- Predictive sustainability: this solution collects data from sensors to create models of expected failures, including potential downtime, accidents, or anything else that needs to be replaced.
- Environmental monitoring: this technology uses sensors to determine the presence of pollutants in the air and water as well as to monitor temperature and humidity.
NTT’s IoT suite for sustainability offers secure IT/OT integration and end-to-end support. Following deployment, companies will quickly see the benefits of the technology across their entire business. Benefits include energy savings, faster emissions reduction, increased operational efficiency and improved access to work throughout the enterprise. The solution stack is also supported by NTT’s new LoRaWAN network and its catalog of sensors to measure, monitor and collect data to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
“IoT technologies are an important tool in the global fight against climate change,” said Jeff Merritt, head of urban change at the World Economic Forum. “We know the steps needed to build a more sustainable future and have a range of robust technologies to do so. As the world strives to accelerate the implementation of these solutions, organizations like NTT will have an important role to play in helping businesses and governments seize this opportunity. »
This announcement follows the appointment of two industry veterans whose goal is to stimulate IoT growth and momentum and NTT’s sustainability. Devin Yaung, a wireless technology industry leader with over 25 years of technology experience focused on business innovation, has been named SVP of Group Enterprise IoT Products and Services, NTT Ltd. Vicky Bullivant was also appointed to Group SVP Sustainable Development, NTT Ltd. Vicky has 25 years of experience delivering and implementing successful sustainability, social, climate and ESG strategies that reinforce business objectives in rapidly changing business environments.
“Nearly two-thirds (61.4%) of CEOs say they have aligned their business strategies with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. But only 2 out of 5 companies are capable of achieving the organization’s short -term goals, ”said Devin Yaung, senior vice president of enterprise IoT products and services for the group.
“So it is more important than ever to favor and offer sustainable development solutions to our client companies. Our new stack solutions will help organizations achieve their maintenance goals and improve their overall operations, whether it’s reducing waste from manufacturing defects or controlling the carbon footprint of their supply chain. Thanks to IoT, companies can make real-time decisions, streamline processes and redefine the overall sustainability of their business. We are proud to launch this offer at a very important milestone, and we hope to drive change with our customers towards a more sustainable future. »
