UAE to send astronaut to International Space Station

The galaxy is slowly expanding and no one wants to be excluded from this exploration. This time, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will send an astronaut for a six -month mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

The selection will fly aboard the Falcon 9, during 2023.

According to the Associated Press, the United Arab Emirates has purchased a seat on a SpaceX rocket, so that an astronaut can travel to the ISS for a six -month stay. This will be the country’s first long -term mission, which, along with other countries, wants to invest in space exploration.

The news was announced by authorities in the United Arab Emirates on Friday and, in principle, the launch will take place next year from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The United Arab Emirates has purchased the Falcon 9 SpaceX chair through Axiom Space, a private company that works together in the space tourism market. This is the second time the UAE has sent an astronaut into space – in 2019, the Major. Hazzaa al-Mansoori spent eight days on the ISS.

The statement released by the country did not disclose which astronaut will fly in 2023, or the cost of reserved seats on SpaceX’s Falcon 9. However, it is known that the ticket price charged by Axiom Space to citizens who obtained it in early April was approximately $ 55 million, including travel and accommodation.

In addition to these small steps taken by the UAE, they also set 2117 as the time horizon for the settlement of a human colony on Mars. Recall that the CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, also aims to establish people on the red planet, to guarantee a second home for people.
